Charles Begovich, age 92, passed away peacefully at 8:14 AM on August 14, 2025, at the Hospice of Miami County in Troy, Ohio.

Charles is survived by his granddaughter, Brooke Francis; his brother, Mike Begovich; great-grandchildren, Lincoln and Oliver; and several nieces and nephews who he loved dearly. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Hazel Lee (Smith) Begovich; his daughter, Mary Malissa Evans; his sister Evelyn (Begovich) Geisler; and his grandson, Brandon Evans.

Born on February 27, 1933, in Dayton, Ohio to Manuel and Helen (Miller) Begovich, Charles lived a life devoted to his family, his work, and his faith. He was a proud graduate of the University of Cincinnati and spent his career as a metallurgical engineer with General Motors, retiring after many dedicated years of service. On August 20, 1960, he married Hazel, the love of his life, with whom he shared over four decades of marriage until her passing.

Charles will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who always put his family first. He took great pride in gardening and caring for his lawn, enjoyed building and flying model airplanes, and had a deep appreciation for classical music, especially when his grandson played. He was actively involved in his daughter's activities and never missed a chance to cheer on and support his grandchildren at their sporting and musical events. Everyone who knew Charles loved him for his kindness, warmth, humor and genuine spirit.

Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at Baird Funeral Home in Troy. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Troy. The family will receive friends at the funeral home for visitation from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
