Carl R. Stager Carl R. Stager, age 73, of Troy, Ohio, passed away at 12:15AM on Thursday, January 13, 2011 at Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy. He was born on August 30, 1937 in Piqua, Ohio to the late Oliver and Edna Williams Stager. His wife of 46 years of marriage, Violet Allen Stager, survives. He is also survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Ken and Danna Stager of Troy; two grandchildren: Melissa Sue Stager of Houston, Texas and Derek Stager of Troy; and two sisters and a brother-in-law: Georgia Cress of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Alice and Roger Mote of Nancy, Kentucky. In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by his brother, Eldon Stager and a sister, Ercelene Stager. Carl enjoyed tractor shows and meeting at McDonald's in the mornings. He retired from AO Smith Company and Troy City Schools. He was later employed with ConAgra Foods. Services will be held at 2:00PM on Sunday, January 16, 2011 at Baird Funeral Home, Troy with Rev. Ed Ellis officiating. Interment will follow in Casstown Cemetery, Casstown, Ohio. Friends may call from 2-5PM on Saturday at the funeral home.
