Carl J. Shappie, age 84, of Troy, OH died Saturday Aug. 4, 2007 at Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy, OH. He was born October 28, 1922 in Houston, OH to the late Sebastian and Blanche Leonard Shappie. He is survived by his wife, Ruth A. Lind Shappie of 61 years. He is also survived by his sister, Thelma Monnier of Piqua, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Glenn. Member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Troy, OH; Knights of St. John; WWll US Army Veteran; Life Member of Troy Elks Lodge #833; Life Member of Troy Fish and Game Club; Troy Senior Citizens and The Piqua Antique Car Club. Retired after 34 years of service as Civil Service employee at Wright Patterson Air Force Base Mass of Christian Burial 11:00AM Tuesday August 7, 2007, St. Patrick Catholic Church, Troy, OH with Rev. Fr. James Duell officiating. Interment in Riverside Cemetery, Troy, OH. VFW Memorial Honorguard at graveside.
