CARL L. "LUD" KROGER

CARL L."LUD" KROGER, age 86, of Troy went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at Koester Pavilion in Troy.  He was born in Troy on June 2, 1927 to the late Carl and Esther (Alspaugh) Kroger.  On July 23, 1960, he married Elsa (Anderson) Kroger.  She survives.

In addition to his wife, Carl is survived by one daughter: Della K. Kroger of Troy; four sisters and brother-in-law: Marjorie Kuhns of Dayton, Janet Walpole of Troy, Esther Lamka of Troy, Rosalie and Richard Calvert of Troy and Charlotte Biles of FL; one brother and sister-in-law: Lawrence and Rita Kroger of Troy; and many nieces and nephews.

Carl was a graduate of Troy High School.  He was a member of Living Word Fellowship in Troy.  Carl proudly served his country as a member of the US Army for 2 years.  He was stationed in Germany and France during the Korean War and served as a Combat Engineer.  Carl loved sports.  He was a mill worker with both Troy Lumber Company and Piqua Lumber Company.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM on Saturday, May 31, 2014 at Baird Funeral Home in Troy with Revs. Gilbert and Phyllis Welbaum officiating.  Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Troy.  Friends may call from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM on Saturday at the funeral home.
