Calvin Castle Jr. Calvin Castle Jr., 79, of Troy, OH, died at 11:55AM Sunday, July 15, 2007 at the Dorothy Love Retirement Community, Sidney, OH. He was born July 4, 1928 in Ashland, KY, to the late Calvin Castle Sr. and Myrtle Mae Lewis. He was married to Betty Hahn Castle of West Milton, OH for 46 years. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law: Ruth Ann and Richard McCarter of Greenback, TN, Roma and Ed Cress of Troy, OH, and Sandy Castle of Troy, OH; stepchildren and their spouses: Steve and Linda Shaurer of Laura, OH, and Bonnie Jo and Richard Sibert of Tower, Minnesota; sister, Mary Ann Coffee of Flatwoods, KY; brother, Bill Castle of Coco Beach, FL; half sister, Patty Parker of Ashland, KY; half brothers: Jim Lewis of Flatwoods, KY, Steve Lewis of Richmond, VA, Wayne Lewis of Ashland, KY and Danny Lewis of Ashland, KY; nine grandchildren and their spouses: Melissa and Greg Bevins of Knoxville, TN, Kelly McCarter of Greenback, TN, Fawnda Carson of Casstown, OH, Heather and Nate Bednar of Troy, OH, Tom and Liz Cress of Huber Heights, OH, Joshua and Heidi Cress of Troy, OH, Jamie and Traci Hoover of Rockford, TN, Chris and Erika Hoover of Maryville, TN, and Sean and Tonya Hoover of Celina, OH; and nine great-grandchildren: Madison Griffeth of Greenback, TN, Abby and Seth Tamplin of Casstown, OH, Hayden and Trevor Cress of Huber Heights, OH, Gracie Cress of Troy, OH, James Hoover III of Rockford, TN, Jennifer Hoover of Rockford, TN, Dylan Hoover of Maryville, TN, and Tyler Hoffman of Celina, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Bob Castle, half sister, Brenda Roads, and half brother, Dean Lewis. Mr. Castle was a member of the American Legion and of the Eagles Lodge in West Milton, OH. He served in the US Army during WWII and retired in 1983 after 36 years of service as a Load Planner for American Airlines. He was a devoted husband and a beloved father, loving his three girls dearly. Funeral services will be at 10:30AM Thursday, July 19, 2007, at Baird Funeral Home, Troy, with interment to follow at Forest Hill Memorial Gardens, Vandalia, OH. There will be a special military service with the VFW Honor Guard. Friends may call from 5-8PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
