Bruce R. Hfford, 52, died on Monday, December 23,2002 in Indianapolis, Indiana after a short illness. He is survived by his mother, Elanor Charline Smith; sister and brother-in-law, Karla and Tim Gonzalez; nieces, Lane and Elizabeth Gonzalez. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Duke Hufford. Bruce was a member of First Lutheran Church, Troy; active with Sunday School, choir, vacation bible school, lay reader, greeter, usher, communion assistant, and Stephens Ministry. He was a member of the Troy Council of Churches; First Lutheran Church representative to Troy Community Men's breakfast; Riverside softball team; Miami County Special Olympics; Secretary of both Arc of Ohio and Arc of Miami County; Weekend Camp Councilor; Optimist Outreach 001 Club; Secretary and Treasurer of Noon Optimist; Secretary and treasurer of Adult Bible Study; Faith Formation; Day of Caring, R.O.M.E.O.S., Movers for Christ, Emmaus Walk; Trust Breakfast and Bible Study Sidney, Ohio;; Saturday Breakfast and Bible Study Troy, Ohio; Riverside Christmas programs and the Riverside Adult Choir. He was inducted into Ohio Developmental Disability Hall of Fame in 1996. Mr. Hufford worked at McDonald's Restaurant. Visitation will be Thursday, December 26, 2002 from 4-8PM at Baird Funeral Home, Troy, Ohio and on Friday, December 27, 2002 from 9:30 to 10:30AM at First Lutheran Church, Troy, Ohio. A service will be at 10:30AM on Friday December 27, 2002 at First Lutheran Church, Troy, Ohio with Rev. Gill W. Krouse officiating. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Troy, Ohio Contributions may be made to First Lutheran Church, Foundation of Faith;or Memorial Fund Arc of Miami County.
