Bruce Edwin Hays of Troy OH went to be with the Lord June 24 under Hospice care at Koester Pavilion. Born in Piqua, Ohio on December 30, 1940 the son of J. Willet and Frances Schuesselin Hays. Bruce was a long time employee at NCR where he met the love of his life, his wife Loretta. He spent part of his career managing restaurants including Jed's Steak and Ribs and Po Folks and retired as an  inventory auditor. Bruce spent his entire life active as a coach, mentor, father, and fan of his children, grandchildren, & great grandchildren. He always had a song or limerick to share, whether coaching, reading to a 2nd grade class, watching ball games at Eldean park, or playing Santa at the Christmas show, he was there and involved. Bruce loved his Family, Bengals Football, Reds Baseball, The Ohio State Buckeyes, Euchre, Rummy, Penny Ante Poker, and of course Oh Heck. He is survived by his wife of 62 years Loretta Crider Hays; daughters Tammy (Marty) McGillivary and Deborah Hays; grandchildren Maria McGillivary, Daniel McGillivary, Joseph (Lena) McGillivary, Matthew McGillivary, Timothy (Sara) Fugate, Jacob Fugate, and Mary Fugate; great grandchildren Nolan Fugate and Everett McGillivary; sister Shari (Ed) Everman and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister Barbara Beard; brothers John and Bill Hays.
