Bruce Edward Bayman, age 68, of Fletcher, OH, passed away on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at the Richard M. Ross Heart Hospital, Columbus, OH. Bruce was born on November 4, 1949 in Piqua, OH to the late George Bayman and Marcella L. (Earick) Bayman.
Bruce is survived by his wife of 26 years: Debbie Lynn Lutz; sons: Michael D. (Janis) Bayman of Thousand Oaks, CA; and Matthew M. (Rebecca) Bayman of Troy; sister: Georgia (Fiance' David Werts) Bayman of Tipp City; brother: Chris (Evelyn) Bayman of Tipp City; and four grandchildren: Mason, Madison, James and Penny Bayman.
Bruce was a graduate of Bethel High School, as well as The Ohio State University and Edison Community College. He was an active member of the Green Space Advisory Committee (Predecessor to the Miami County Park District) and the Iddings Log House Preservation Association at Brukner Nature Center, where he helped with the construction of the log cabin, including building its chimney and fireplace. Bruce was a distinguished woodworker and craftsman. He and his wife owned and operated Bird In Hand Workshop in Fletcher and Canal Street Primitives in downtown Troy. He also enjoyed spending time at his country home, gardening, writing, traveling and collecting antiques.
Bruce was adored and respected by all who knew him and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
No public services will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of donor's choice in Bruce's memory.
