Bobby Ray Smith, age 81, of Troy, OH passed away on Monday, April 9, 2018 at the Koester Pavilion, Troy.  He was born on January 8, 1937 in Mallory, WV to the late Lawrence A. and Lona V. (Reynolds) Smith.  Bobby was married to his wife of 40 years: Shirley Kay (Taylor) Smith and she preceded him in death on October 23, 2005.

Bobby is survived by his stepdaughter: Dee (Jim) Harvey of DeGraff; sisters: Joan Irvin of Erlanger, KY, Charlotte Smith of Decatur, AL, Yvonne Stone of Southgate, KY, Donna Young of Independence, KY and Connie Siple of Humble, TX; numerous nieces and nephews; Grandchildren: Tiffany (Joe) Wise of Dayton and Stacey (Toby) Fox of Rosewood; and seven great grandchildren.

Bobby was a veteran of the US Army.  He was stationed in Germany during his term of service.  He was a member of the Troy VFW Post No. 5436.  Bobby enjoyed reading and playing cards.  He was a very friendly person and never met a stranger.  Bobby retired from Dinner Bell after many years of service.

Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, April 13, 2018 at the Baird Funeral Home, Troy with Paul Napier officiating.  Interment will follow in Miami Memorial Park, Covington with military honors at the graveside.  The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home.
