Bobbie Jean Goins Schmidt, age 86, of Troy, OH passed away on May 17, 2021 peacefully at home surrounded by her family. Born March 12, 1935 in Pineville, KY to the late Gillis McGeorge and Mossie Miracle Thompson.  Also preceded in death by her Dad Willie Thompson who raised her.  Preceded in death by her brothers: Berchel McGeorge, Gillis McGeorge Jr., Hershel McGeorge, Claude Thompson, Dan Thompson, Odis Thompson, Kenneth Thompson, and George Thompson; sisters: Mary Bowman, Edna McGeorge, Manda Thompson, Dorothy Thompson, Wanda Fay Thompson, Claudie Thompson and Kathy Kinstle; her spouse: Charles Goins, and son: Allen Goins.

Survived by her children: Debra Pennington-Miller (Ken) of LaPorte, CO; Rhonda Rothwell of New Richmond, OH; Lorrie Wolf (Jim)  of Amelia, OH; Teresa Madron (Steve) of Lafollette, TN; Bethany Normile (Russ) of Troy, OH; Charles Goins Jr. (Carla) of Lafollette, TN; and Angela Crippa of Cincinnati, OH; brothers: Cliff Thompson (Vickie) of St. Marys, OH and James Lee of Hamilton, OH; sisters: Willine Schwarck (Sam) of Wapakoneta, OH and Virginia Franks of New Knoxville, OH;  22 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.  She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

After moving to Cincinnati, OH, she was employed as a custom drapery cutter for over 30 years.  After re-locating to Troy, OH, she worked as a cook at JR Valentines and the Troy Elks Club.  She enjoyed gardening, quilting, cooking, and growing flowers.   Her greatest joy in life was her family.  She will be missed by many friends and family.

Services will be held at 10AM on Monday, May 24, 2021 at the Baird Funeral Home, Troy, OH with Brother Donald Gilroy officiating.  Interment will follow in Miami Memorial Park, Covington, OH.  The family will receive friends from 2-5PM on Sunday, May 23, 2021 at the funeral home.
