IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Beulah Forestine
(Fairchild) Huston
October 31, 1930 – July 1, 2025
Beulah Forestine (Fairchild) Huston, age 94, formerly of Kettering and more recently South Vienna, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home on July 1, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with dementia. Surrounded by love and care, her final days were spent in the home she helped shape, under the devoted watch of her family and hospice caregivers.
Born on October 31, 1930, in Elk Fork, Kentucky, Beulah was the daughter of Bruce and Sarah Pearl (DeHart) Fairchild. She married the love of her life, John "Jack" Edward Huston, on August 9, 1952, and together they built a life centered on faith, family, and hard work.
Before starting a family, Beulah worked at Pflaum Publishing, but her life's greatest calling was as a devoted homemaker. She poured her energy and care into raising her two sons, including her youngest, Lawrence, who lives with cerebral palsy and was her lifelong inspiration and joy.
Beulah was a master gardener whose flower beds overflowed with over a hundred varieties of perennial blooms, many of which she generously shared with friends and local garden clubs. She also had a gift for baking and cake decorating. What began as a hobby after a single class blossomed into a thriving home business—creating custom cakes for birthdays, weddings, and special occasions for hundreds of happy customers.
Her faith was the guiding light of her life. A longtime member of Hope United Methodist Church, and more recently a worshipper at Catawba Methodist Church, Beulah expressed her love for others through her "cake ministry," baking hand-decorated cakes bearing the message "God Loves You and So Do We," which her pastor delivered to visitors and shut-ins. Beulah made over 3,000 of these cakes before her eyesight forced her to quit.
Beulah was known for her unwavering faith, quiet strength, and remarkable devotion to her family. She began every day with scripture and prayer and lived out her beliefs with love in action.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Jack, her parents, and her siblings Carl Fairchild, James Fairchild, Roxie Crowell, Juanita Bryant, and Ruth Povilaika.
She is survived by her children Dale (Kim) Huston and Lawrence "Larry" Huston; her granddaughter Kristine Vanover; great-grandchildren Evelyn (fiancé Randy) and Nathan; her sister Virginia Loden; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A private graveside service will be held for immediate family, with a celebration of life planned for a later date when all who loved her can gather in her honor. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Beulah's memory to Ohio Valley Hospice.
The family wishes to express heartfelt thanks to the hospice team and caregivers who helped bring Beulah comfort and peace in her final days.
