BETTY J. WHITE

Betty J.  White, age 85, of Troy, passed away on Friday, February 07, 2014 at Koester Pavilion, Troy, OH.  She was born on August 4, 1928 in Reinersville, OH to the late Leslie and Jessie McGrath.  She married Melvin White.  He preceded her in death on November 9, 1996.

Betty is survived by one son and daughter-in-law: Tim and Teresa White, of Troy; one daughter and son-in-law: Cheryl and Robert Drees, of Boerne, TX; one stepdaughter: Sandy Swope, of Zanesville; four grandchildren: Sean (Sharon) Drees, Nichole (Soren) Gormley, Jessica Drees, and T. J. White; and three great-grandchildren: Emily (Jack) Summerlin, Katie Drees, and Eric Drees.  In addition to her husband and parents, Betty was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.

Betty was a former nurse's aide at Highland Nursing Home.  She enjoyed crocheting, crafts, gardening and flowers.  Most of all, Betty loved her children and grandchildren.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.  Burial will held in Forest Hills Memorial Garden, Vandalia, OH.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Baird Funeral Home, Troy, OH.
