Betty M. Sotzing Betty M. Sotzing, age 86, of Troy, Ohio, passed away at 6:01AM on Friday, June 24, 2011 at her residence. She was born on May 2, 1925 in Troy to the late Robert Francis and Evelyn English McCurdy. Her husband of 54 years, Donald E. Sotzing, preceded her in death on December 16, 2002. She is survived by two sons, Jerry L. and Gloria Sotzing of Tipp City, Ohio and Kent L. and Debra Sotzing of Troy; four sisters-in-law: Lucille Gray, Pauline Buirley, Thelma Ashmore and Judy Sotzing; four grandchildren: Kristopher, Rebecca and Todd Sotzing and Lora Bridges; five great-grandchildren: Julia Bowden, Cory Sotzing, Megan Sutton, Jack Sotzing and Aaron Sotzing; and her dog, Max. In addition to her parents and her husband, Mrs. Sotzing was preceded in death by her brother, Robert McCurdy. She was a 1943 graduate of Elizabeth High School and a member of Troy Church of the Brethren. She retired in 1982 from Barnes Thomas Insurance after 20 years of service. A funeral service will be held at 10:30AM on Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at Baird Funeral Home, Troy, with interment to follow in Riverside Cemetery, Troy.
