Bessie A. Stump Bessie A. Stump, age 84, of Troy, Ohio, passed away at 3:51AM on Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at Upper Valley Medical Center, ER, Troy. She was born on January 26, 1924 in the Philippine Islands, to the late Frank and Arcadia Alvira Martin Tompkins. Her husband of 63 years, William V. Stump, survives. Mrs. Stump is also survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Karen Stump of Minneapolis, Minnesota; two daughters and sons-in-law: Kay and Don Buckles of St. Paris, Ohio and Lynn and Mike Owen of Troy; eight grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Stump was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters. She was a member of the First United Church of Christ, Troy and attended Upper Valley Community Church of Piqua. Mrs. Stump started a support group for Acoustic Neuroma. She also wrote a book about her life and headed organization for the Philippine Islands during the Festival of Nations. She worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse for Dr. Peryma for 14 years. A funeral service will be held at 2:00PM Saturday, January 17, 2009 at Baird Funeral Home, Troy with Pastor Paul Jetter officiating. Interment will take place at Casstown Cemetery, Casstown, Ohio.
