Bernard C. Wagner Bernard C. "Bernie" Wagner, age 83, of Troy, Ohio, passed away at 2:47PM on Sunday, August 19, 2012 at Hospice of Dayton. He was born on July 24, 1929 in Piqua, Ohio to the late Ernest M. and Marie M. Douthitt Wagner. His wife of 63 years, Annabelle L. Helman Wagner, survives. In addition to his wife, Bernard is survived by his daughters and son-in-law, Sherry L. Scheuerman of Troy, Sue Ann Walker of Troy and Gay M. and Brad Calhoun of Troy; son, Barry C. Wagner of Springfield; brother and sister-in-law, Wayne E. and Barbara Wagner of Troy; sister-in-law, Roberta Widener of Troy; step-sister and brother-in-law, Donna and Richard Kahkola of Vandalia; seven grandchildren, Raymond Annamae Scheuerman, Brian Wagner, Nicholas Wagner, Torrence Walker, Alex Walker, Eric Walker and Sabrina Calhoun; four great-grandchildren, Bernard J. Scheuerman, Bradley Scheuerman, Traven Snyder and Noah Wagner. He was a 1947 graduate of Troy High School and a 1948 graduate of Miami Jacobs Business College. He was a lifetime member of the First United Church of Christ, Troy where he served as Deacon and Moderator and on many boards. He was a 50 year member of Franklin Lodge #14 F&AM, Troy; member of the Order of Eastern Star #256; past member of the Concord Grange, Elks #833 and the Troy Lions Club. He was employed by Wagner Construction Company from 1949 to 1972 and Troy City Schools from 1972 to 1986 and retired as Director of Buildings and Grounds from Troy Schools. Funeral services will be held 10:30AM on Friday, August 24, 2012 at the First United Church of Christ in Troy with Pastor Lauren Allen officiating. Interment will follow at Miami Memorial Park in Covington, Ohio. The family will receive friends from 4:00-8:00PM on Thursday, August 23, 2012 at Baird Funeral Home with Masonic services at 7:30 PM.
