Obituary

Bernard W. 'Barney' Jordan Bernard W. 'Barney' Jordan, age 77, of Troy, Ohio died Thursday, April 8, 2010 at his residence. He was born October 31, 1932 in Piqua, Ohio to the late Clarence Jordan and Catherine Seiters Jordan. He married Patricia McMaken Jordan on October 28, 1952 and she survives. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Luann Jordan of Troy, Ohio and son and daughter-in-law, William and Delores Jordan of Troy, Ohio; granddaughter, Kayla Marie Jordan; and step-grandchildren, Lindsey Marie and Justin Todd Bunch. Barney was preceded in death by his parents and stepmother, Lucille Covault Jordan. He graduated from Piqua Catholic School in 1950. He was owner and operator of the Jordan TBA for 33 years. He was a Staff Sergeant in the US Air Force having served from 1951-1955. Barney was a member of the St. Patrick Catholic Church, Knights of St. John, Elks Lodge, Troy Fish and Game Club, American Legion and AmVets. For 45 years he participated in the chain gang at the Troy football games and for 28 years he helped with the Trojan marching band. He was a volunteer at the Upper Valley Medical Center and the Bunny Bunch 4-H Rabbit club and a member of the 4-H Barbeque Committee. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30AM Monday, April 12, 2010 at the St. Patrick Catholic Church, Troy, Ohio. Interment will follow at the Forest Hill Cemetery in Piqua, Ohio. Family will receive friends at the Baird Funeral Home, Troy, Ohio from 2-5PM on Sunday. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Miami County, P.O. Box 502, Troy, Ohio 45373 or the Sunrise Center, Piqua, Ohio. The family extends appreciation to Joe Quinn, Cindy Baker, and the staff at Blackstone Agency, UVMC, Koester Pavilion, Hospice of Miami County and Pat Smith at St. Patrick Catholic Church.
