Benjamin Earl Schlater, age 66, of Piqua, OH, passed away on April 13, 2020 at Hospice of Miami County Inpatient Unit. He was born on January 12, 1954 in Cincinnati, OH to Leonard and Barbara (Martin) Blalock and raised by adoptive parents: Velma (Arling) and the late Edmond Schlater.

Benjamin is survived by his wife: Roberta Schlater; children: Angela (Ginger Johnson) Schlater, Joshua (Stephanie) Schlater, Jessica (Timothy Jung) Schlater, and Adam (Jessica Fisher) Schlater; siblings: David Blalock, Jennifer Blalock, Donna Demange, and Brenda Henry; grandchildren: Morgan (Doug) Wintrow, Cydney Nolan, James Nolan, Avery (Cody) Murtz, Skai Schlater, Taylor Kilgore, Addison Schlater, Aidan Gorman, Isaac Sarver, Kaylen Sarver, Hunter Jung, Gavin Green, Ethan Schlater, Savannah Schlater and Merik Schlater; two great grandchildren: Marcella Murtz and Lemon Wintrow; eight nieces and nephews and special friends: Dory Richardson and Tina LeValley. In addition to his adoptive father, Benjamin was preceded in death by grandchild: Lane Jung.

Benjamin graduated from the Hobart School of Welding. He served his country in the US Navy. Benjamin was a car enthusiast, loved music, collecting video game systems, and his dog: Isis.

Services will be held at a later date at the Dayton National Cemetery.
