Belva Bill Brown Belva Bill Brown, 88, while surrounded by his entire family, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, February 1, 2010. Belva was born on January 12, 1922 in Oldtown, Kentucky to the late Harrison Samuel and Minnie Florence Stapleton Brown and was married to Flora McCallister on September 25, 1943. After 65 years of marriage and less than nine months apart, she will meet him at heavens gates. They were blessed with two daughters, Mary Lou Larck Otis Burton, of Troy who has lived with and cared for him the last several years, and Phyllis Brown also of Troy. They have five grandchildren. Tim Janet Larck of Troy, Mrs. Tony Melissa Mitchell of Christiansburg, Mrs. Brad Beth Cole of Troy, Charles Brandi Williams of Hamilton, Ohio, and Christine Matney of Troy. Great-grandchildren including Mrs. Clyde Alicia Thompson of Troy, Heather Knight of Troy, Ashley Williams of Troy, Mrs. Frank Megan Watkins of Casstown, Justin Larck and Andrew Larck of Troy, Chasity Williams of Hamilton, Briana Martin of Hamilton, CJ Williams of Hamilton, Nicholas Matney of Troy, and Caylee Williams of Hamilton. Belva was also blessed with great-great-grandchildren including Clyde Thompson Jr., Dylan Thompson, and Haley Thompson all of Troy, Ayden Roe and Nicholas Watkins of Casstown. Belva was one of four children, Edna Queen deceased, Mrs. John Bethel Bays of Oldtown, Kentucky, Cleo Brown deceased. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, including a very special niece, Mrs. Bill Betty Baker of Troy, who was like a daughter to him, and Mr. & Mrs. Albert Tex and Maggie Frampton of Tipp City. Belva had a zest for life and nothing brought him more pleasure than his family and working in his "little Brown building" creating things with his hands, from wood working to small metal works. Belva was employed with Hobart and retired in 1984, after more than 36 years. He was a member of the Quarter Century Club. He was a lifelong member of the Troy Fish & Game Club and enjoyed going out there to play cards. He was also an avid walker and spent a lot of mornings at the Hobart Arena walking. He was a member of the Corner Stone Baptist Church in Troy. Services will be held at Baird Funeral Home on Friday, February 5, 2010 at 2:00PM with Pastor Matt Harbor officiating. Friends can call on the family two hours prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Troy.
