Beatrice H. "Bea" Lewis Scalf, age 87, passed away on Monday, December 4, 2006 at Livingston Care Center, Dayton, Ohio. Bea was born on October 28, 1919 in Eastern Kentucky, to Joseph and Nannie Lewis. She came to Dayton in 1954. Bea loved playing bingo, doing arts and crafts, singing hymns and attending church services. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Alonzo, in 1993, a daughter, Glenda Ries in April of 2006. Surviving include two daughters, Linda James Glenn of Manchester, Kentucky, Brenda Denny Crouse of Huber Heights, Ohio; son-in-law; Robert Ries of Covington, 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 8, 2006 at 2:00PM at the Baird Funeral Home, Troy, Ohio. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Troy, Ohio.
