IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Beatrice T.
"Bea" Lockwood
November 7, 1946 – August 7, 2024
Beatrice T. "Bea" Lockwood, age 77, formerly of Rock Hill, SC and more recently of Troy, OH passed away on August 7, 2024. Bea was born on November 7, 1946 in Hagerstown, MD to the late Kemps and Eloise Harlan (Jackson) Thames.
Bea is survived by her; daughter and son-in-law: Kate and John Fulton of Troy; son and daughter-in-law: Ian and Anne Lockwood of Hillsborough, NC; five grandchildren: Caroline, Will & Nick Lockwood and Luke & Harlan Fulton; sister Kit (Thames) Hower and ya-ya sister Kathie Wolfinger; brother Mac Thames; sister-in-law: Bea Lockwood, of Honolulu, HI, and numerous extended family members. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years: John J. "Jack" Lockwood; her two sisters-in-law: Nancy (Lockwood) Schultz and Gail (Lockwood) Bluhm; three brothers-in-law: Charles Hower, Ret. Lt. Col. Edward Lockwood & William Bluhm; and nephew Scott Lockwood.
Bea grew up in Greencastle, PA, and later graduated from Parkway Senior High School in St Louis, MO. While pursuing a career as a flight attendant for Ozark Airlines, Bea met Jack and they married in 1967. Her family, faith, home and adventure became her main priorities. She was the co-captain to the family sailing, camping, rafting, skiing, biking and kayaking trips; while always sprinkling education, good food and laughter over each experience. She grew up a proud Girl Scout and later led a troop out of Lebanon, OH. She was an encouraging leader that taught her girls that they could accomplish anything they put their minds to with a little bit of planning, confidence and resourcefulness. She created a beautiful and loving home in the many stops during her lifetime. She loved to cheer on her husband, children and grandchildren no matter the sport or competition; and was always prepared with words of encouragement and a healthy snack to 'keep up the energy'. In her spare time she took on a YMCA board position and many volunteer positions within her church and local historic venues. She was a supportive and loving sister, wife, mother, aunt, grammy and friend. She will be missed!
