Barbara J. Whisler, age 97, of Troy, passed away on Sunday, September 17, 2023, at her daughter's residence. She was born on August 15, 1926 in Willard, OH to the late Omer E. and Myrtle E. Armatrout.

Barbara is survived by her daughter: Melinda (Michael) Combs of Troy; stepchildren: Larry (Mimi) Whisler of Marion and Susan (Kevin) Crowman of Marion; four grandchildren: Lance Combs, Margo Combs, Rebecca Lysinger and Jennifer Schroeder; 3 step grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband: Robert E. Ernsberger; second husband: Joseph G. Whisler; daughter: Pamela Lee Traxler Marino; son: Robert Edward Ernsberger; sisters: Phoebe Tuttle and Hazel Suiter and brothers: William, Gerald and Richard Armatrout.

Barbara attended First Baptist Church in Troy, was a Girl Scout Leader and a member of Lambda Chi Omega in Shelby.

Funeral Services will be held at 4:00 PM on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at Baird Funeral Home with Pastor Dale Christian officiating.  The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 4:00 PM prior to the service.  Interment will be at 1:00 PM, Monday, September 25, 2023 at Oakland Cemetery in Shelby.
