Barbara Elizabeth Wannemacher Barbara Elizabeth Wannemacher, 74, of Troy, Ohio passed away Saturday, July 10, 2010 at 6:53AM at her residence. She was born January 6, 1936 in Richmond, Indiana to the late Roy and Ruth Wolke Turner. Barbara is survived by her husband of 46 years, John A. Wannemacher; two sons and daughters-in-law: J. Andrew and Melissa Wannemacher of Troy, Ohio and William and Pamela Wannemacher of Columbus, Ohio; daughter and son-in-law: Katherine and Jeffrey Banker of Columbus, Ohio; brother and sister-in-law: John and Jody Turner of Richmond, Indiana; four grandchildren: Margaret, Eleanor and Elizabeth Wannemacher, and J. Reid Banker. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister Virginia Clevenger and brother, Michael Turner. She received her B.S. from Purdue University and double Masters in History from Wright State University. She was a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority at Purdue University, a member of Altrusa, and a Master Gardener. She retired in 2005 after teaching English for 30 years, 20 years of which were at Troy High School. Funeral services will be on Thursday, July 15, 2010 at 11:00AM at the Baird Funeral Home in Troy with the Rev. Fr. James Duell officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Troy.
