Anna Maria (Russell) Newsad, age 67, of Troy, passed away on October 14, 2025, at Ohio's Hospice of Miami County Inpatient Unit. She was born on October 31, 1957, in Troy, to the late Roger and Iva Mae (Harper) Russell.

Anna is survived by her husband of 36 years: Edward K. Newsad; two children, Nichole (Candace) Russell and Matthew (David Ashton) Swisher; two sisters, Teresa (Robert) Fine and Kimberly (Randall) Harvey; and three grandchildren, Addisyn Russell, Adia Caplinger, and Kole Caplinger. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins whom she loved dearly.

Anna was a 1976 graduate of Troy High School. After working for many years at Captor, Panasonic, and Walgreens, she retired in 2007 to become a full-time nana. Anna will always be remembered for her sense of humor, quick wit, and her love for Halloween.

A service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, October 20, at Baird Funeral Home in Troy, with Michael Barnhart officiating. Family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. that day at the funeral home.
