Anita Sharits Anita Sharits, age 89, of Troy, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at Koester Pavilion, Troy. She was born on March 19, 1921 in Troy to the late Charles and Ruth Rice Meyer. Her husband, John B. Sharits, preceded her in death on May 12, 1997. Survivors include her three daughters and sons-in-law: Barbara and Michael Hennessey of Dayton, Ohio, Cathy and Roy Jackson of Mansfield, Ohio and Dianna and Jerry Schieltz of Troy; four grandchildren: Todd and Kristen Cress, John Schieltz, Erin and Chris Craft and Ned Hennessey; and three great-grandchildren: Jack Cress and Hayley and Hanna Craft. In addition to her parents and her husband, Anita was preceded in death by three brothers, three sisters and one grandson, Robert Kenna. When her daughters were young, Anita was a room mother, active in school activities and a Girl Scout leader. She was also a seamstress, an excellent cook and did needlework. Anita and John were involved in bowling leagues and travel. Anita was an avid card player. She was a wonderful friend, mother and grandmother. She will be greatly missed. Funeral services will be held at 10:30AM on Friday, November 12, 2010 at Baird Funeral Home, Troy, with Rev. Ed Ellis officiating. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Troy. Friends may call from 5-7PM on Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Koester Pavilion, Freedom Court, 3232 N.
