Alva W. ''Dick'' Zerkle, age 77, of Casstown, OH Died Saturday December 15, 2001 in Upper Valley Medical Center E.R. He was born November 5, 1924 the son of Leo & Gladys Studebaker Zerkle who preced him in death. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Eileen Markley Studebaker; One daughter, Diann Fine of New Carlisle, OH; One sister, Evelyn Thrush of Sanford, MI; Three Grandchildren; Ryan Fine of Troy, OH; Bryan Fine of Troy, OH & Alisha Fine of New Carlisle, OH. He was preceded in death by brothers: Lewis ''Bud'' Zerkle; Melvin ''Curly'' Zerkle; Charles ''Fred'' Zerkle; Marvin ''Pete'' Zerkle and Son-in-Law, Steve Fine. Mr. Zerkle was a member of Casstown United Methodist Church; WWII Army Veteran; Past Fire Chief of Casstown Volunteer Fire Department and member of the Ohio Fire Chief's Association. Retired From Shaughnessey T.V. and Appliance Store and was currently working at Edgar Smith & Son Flower Shop, Troy, OH.
