Alma E. Coble Bretland, 85, died at Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy, Ohio on Friday, January 31, 2003. She is survived by sons and daughter-in-law: Lawrence D. Bretland,Robert O. and Millie Bretland; daughters and son-in-law: Judith K. and Mike Hemmert, Carol L. Byrkett and Doris A. Shepherd; sister, Doris Klosterman, eight grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. Mrs. Bretland was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence E. Bretland in 1995, her parents, Calvin and Frances Stueve Coble, three brothers and two sisters. She was a member of Elks Lodge #833 Ladies Social Club and VFW Post #5436 Auxiliary, Troy. She retired in 1983 after 20 years of service with Uhlmans Department Store, Troy. Visitation will be from 2-4 PM Sunday, February 2, 2003 at Baird Funeral Home, Troy, Ohio; a service will be at 11:00Am Monday, February 3, 2003 at the funeral home with Rev. Al Bastin officiating. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Troy, Ohio. Contributions may be made to Alzheimers Association or Sunrise Center of Troy, 1431 W. Main Street, Troy, Ohio.
