Obituary

Allen L. Burlile, age 92, of Fletcher, passed away on September 18, 2025.  He was born March 4, 1933, in West Jefferson, OH, to the late Marion R. and Letha (Stapleton) Burlile.

Allen is survived by daughter and son-in-law: Susan and John Kuehne of Troy; son and daughter-in-law: Greg and Linda Burlile of Columbus; grandchildren: Danielle (Denlinger) Lanning, Katie (Michael) (Denlinger) Pitts, Josh Burlile, Caleb (Abby) Burlile and Megan (Sam) (Burlile) Miller; and great grandchildren: Scarlett Pitts, Emmerson Pitts, Sophia Pitts, Katie Lanning, Micah Lanning, Josie Lanning and Mason Miller.  In addition to his parents, Allen was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years: Janet Mae (Oswalt) Burlile on April 17, 2014; and siblings: Gladys (Burlile) Peters, Doris (Burlile) Harmon and Joseph Carville.

Allen will be remembered for many things including his generous spirit, love of the outdoors, and unwavering commitment to family and community.  Allen was a hard worker and turned a difficult upbringing around and started his own business named G&S Tool Service of Troy, OH from which he retired.

Allen had a lifelong passion for fishing, especially for panfish, and delighted in sharing that joy with others. Many will fondly recall time spent with him on his pontoon boat or fishing trips and his patient guidance helped friends and family discover the simple pleasure of casting a line. A highlight of every year was the Burlile Fish Fry, hosted by Allen and his beloved wife Janet, where good food and laughter brought people together.  Allen also was deeply committed to coaching and mentoring young people. Whether on the softball diamond, baseball field, or basketball court, he poured his heart into teaching the fundamentals of the games he so loved. Many students have fond memories of "Coach AB".

Family will receive friends on Friday, October 17 from 4pm to 5pm at The Valley Church Troy campus (916 N. Market Street, Troy, OH 45373) followed by a Memorial Service at 5pm at the church.  Private Family interment at Casstown Cemetery.

Allen was a long-time member of Casstown United Methodist Church and he came to put his faith in Jesus Christ as his Savior.  We would like to thank Brookdale of Piqua and Ohio's Hospice of Miami County for being so gracious and helpful.  In lieu of flowers, consider making a donation to Ohio's Hospice of Miami County at www.ohioshospice.org.
