HUNTER, ALICE C., age 97, of Sidney, OH, formerly of Troy, OH and Oakwood, OH,  passed away on Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at 3:44 AM at Dorothy Love Retirement Community in Sidney.  She was born on January 3, 1917 in Barnesville, OH to the late Stephen and Betha (Cree) Clegg.

Alice is survived by her daughter: Susan (Dennis) Hughes of Sidney; son: David (Vikki) Tennant of Troy; Step-son: Paul (Suzanne) Hunter of MI; 5 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; brothers: Robert (Mary Kay) Clegg of Cleveland and Glenn Clegg of Columbus; and numerous nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by first husband: Webb Tennant; second husband of 31 years: Edwin Hunter; step-daughter: Martha Antonick; brother: Virgil Clegg; and sister: Frances Schafer.

Alice worked for the Troy Library as a Library Assistant for 8 years.  She was a member of the Church of Christ, the Columbus Association for the Performing Arts and the National Trust for Historic Preservation.  Alice enjoyed antiquing and photography; but most of all, she loved her children.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, September 15, 2014 at Baird Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Pumphrey officiating.  Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Troy.  Family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon – 2:00 PM on Monday at the funeral home.
