Alberta M. "Bertie" Cooper, 88, formerly of Troy passed away at 3:15 PM Saturday October 24, 2015 at Laurels of Mount Vernon. She was born March 30, 1927 in Versailles, Ohio to the late Nathan and Estella Christian. Her husband of 62 years Dwaine H. Cooper preceded her in death on March 5, 2009. Alberta is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Dianna and Robert Partington of Fredericktown; two sons and daughters-in-law, Dallas Dean Cooper of Burlington Vermont and Dee H. and Mary Jo Cooper of Lewisburg; sisters Phyllis Lillycrap of Piqua, Janice Beck of Troy, and Judy White of Troy; brother Norvan Christian of Troy; seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Daryl Cooper, three brothers and five sisters. Mrs. Cooper was a 1945 graduate of Pleasant Hill High School and a member of the First United Church of Christ in Troy. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday October 30, 2015 at the Baird Funeral Home, Troy, with interment to follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Pleasant Hill.
