Alan K. Dohner, age 74, of Troy, OH passed away on Friday, February 19, 2016 at the Upper Valley Medical Center in Troy after complications from heart disease.  He was born on July 24, 1941 in Dayton, OH to the late Donald and Mildred (Musselman) Dohner.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Treva E. (Aukerman) Dohner; daughters and son-in-law: Alicia and Jeffrey Lehman of Hilliard and Dorinda Dohner of Bloomington, IN; grandsons: Jacob; Tyler; Zachary and Luke Lehman; sister: Barbara Buttram of Kettering; brother and sister-in-law: Doug and Theisa Dohner of Cable; mother-in-law: Pauline Aukerman of Greenville and brother-in-law and sister-in-law: David and Pam Aukerman of Greenville and numerous nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, Alan was preceded in death by his father-in-law: Alva Aukerman.

Alan was a 1959 graduate of Fairview High School and a 1964 graduate of Bowling Green State University with a degree in Business.  He served his country as a member of the US Army Reserves.  Alan was an active member of the Troy Church of the Brethren having served as the financial secretary and deacon and involved on the church board and numerous committees.

Alan retired from Hobart Brothers Company/ITW and was a member of the Milestone Club.  Following retirement he worked part-time with Tony Fessler in financial services.

Alan was an avid bird watcher.  He enjoyed woodcarving, bicycling and family camping trips.  He also enjoyed attending sporting events with his son-in-law and grandsons.

Services will be held at 10:30AM on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at the Troy Church of the Brethren with Pastor Jon Keller officiating.  Interment will follow in the Riverside Cemetery, Troy, OH.  The family will receive friends from 4:00-8:00PM on Monday, February 22, 2016 at the Baird Funeral Home, Troy.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Upper Valley Medical Center Foundation or the Brukner Nature Center.
