Thomas B. Heckman, 79, of Troy peacefully passed away on Tuesday, April 24, 2017 at home after a brief illness.  He was born on September 20, 1937 in Coldwater, OH to Ambrose and Henrietta Heckman.  He grew up in Fort Loramie, OH.  He married Mary Ann Dahlinghaus his loving wife of 53 years. 

He is survived by his sister, Karen Bensman, and brother, Jerry.  He was blessed with five children Tony (Beth), Susan Lane (Matt), Greg (Abby), Bill (Erin) and Vicki Briggs (Stewart) as well as thirteen grandchildren.   

Tom retired from Hobart Corporation in 2002 after over 25 years of service.

He was active in W.B.C.C.I. and Good Sam camping units having spent three terms as President of the Miami Valley Unit of Ohio W.B.C.C.I.  He was an active member of St. Patrick’s Catholic church. He enjoyed travelling the country and the world, playing cards and spending time with family and friends.  Tom proudly served his country as a member of the US Army.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 28, 2017 at St. Patricks Catholic Church in Troy with Rev. Fr. James Duell as Celebrant.  He will be laid to rest at St. Michaels Cemetery in Fort Loramie.  Friends may call on Thursday evening, April 27, 2017 from 5:00 – 8:00 PM and Friday morning from 9:30 – 10:30 AM at the Baird Funeral Home in Troy.
