SARA J. “SALLIE” (BRAMMER) GUMBERT BYRKET, age 82, of Troy, passed away on Friday, February 23, 2018 at Hospice of Miami County Inpatient Unit in Troy. She was born on March 29, 1935 in Troy to the late Charles E. and Rhea Alleynt (Buckles) Adams.
Sallie is survived by one son: Robert Ray (Deborah) Gumbert of Troy; two sisters: Melanie (Rick) Stokes of Charleston, SC and Paula “Tabert” (Dan) Thomas of Cincinnati; one granddaughter: Rachel Crabtree of Lexington, KY; two step grandchildren: Staci (John) Chiow of Troy and Jeremy Ashman of Piqua; and great grandson: Drew Robertson of Lexington, KY. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Ray Gumbert; and one sister: Merila Smith.
Sallie was a beautician by trade. She owned her own shop for many years in Tipp City called Colonial Shop Coiffeurs. Sallie attended Christian Chapel in Tipp City and was a volunteer at Salvation Army in Troy.
Memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at Baird Funeral Home in Troy with Pastor Dan Williams officiating. Friends may call for one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Interment will be held at a later date at Maple Hill Cemetery in Tipp City.
