Nancy Lee Harnish, age 85, of Troy, OH passed away on Monday, October 16, 2017 at Koester Pavilion, Troy.  Nancy was born on September 25, 1932 in Troy, OH to the late Ralph Reed and Augusta (Furrow) Reed Dilley. 

Nancy is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law: Terri (Harnish) and Butch Morgan of Troy; Cindy (Harnish) and Von Clendenen of Troy; sons and daughter-in-law: Richard and Cass Harnish and Todd (Amy Fessler) Harnish, all of Troy; brother and sister-in-law: Arlen and Clara Reed; grandchildren: Kimberly and Bill Innes; Anthony and Andrea Morgan; Eric Harnish; Kevin and Nikole Harnish; Heather Phelps; Charles Phelps; Zach (Caitlin) Clendenen; Ashley Clendenen; Olivia Harnish and Caroline Harnish; great grandchildren: Madeline, Abigail, and Erika Innes; Jarret, Grace, and Stella Avey; Addison Morgan; Hayden and Harrison Harnish and Libby, Leah, Luke, and Lavy Harnish; and nieces and nephews.   She also leaves behind dear friend: Ronnie Dixon.  In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her daughter: Jerri Gilmore; granddaughter: Miranda Phelps; stepfather: Maurice Dilley and infant sister: Carol Reed.

Nancy attended Troy High School.  She worked in the medical field for over 40 years at Stouder Memorial Hospital, Dettmer Hospital and Piqua Memorial Hospital and then Upper Valley Medical Center.  She began her career as a nurse’s aid and went on to become an EEG and EKG Department Head.  After retirement she was employed as a home healthcare aid for many years at Midwest Nursing as well as American Nursing.

Nancy was a member and Past President of the Grandmothers Club.  She was a member of the Ladies Card Club and she was recognized as Outstanding Senior Citizen in 2006 by Midwest Extended Care.  She loved being around her family, her grandchildren and her great grandchildren.  She enjoyed Halloween when she would make donuts for Trick or Treat.  She also liked to be outside and going for walks.

Private services for the family will be held on Friday, October 20, 2017.  Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Troy.  The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 8:00 PM on Thursday at the Baird Funeral Home, Troy.
