MARY KATHARINE DEISMAN, age 78, of Vandalia, passed away unexpectedly on April 4, 2018 at Hospice of Miami County Inpatient Unit in Troy. She was born on October 28, 1939 in Cleveland, OH to the late Alfred Orchard and Ruth Charlotte (Leonhard) Deisman.
Mary is survived by close personal friend: Chester F. Howes of Fairborn; long-time friends: Jack Rezabek of Hampton, VA and Jan and Tom Cord of Centerville; and special friend: Scott Meece.
Mary was a 1957 graduate of Shaker Heights High School. She also was a 1961graduate of Kent State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education and a 1969 graduate of Wright State University with a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Supervision. Mary was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Troy. Mary retired from Dayton Board of Education in 1991 with 30 years of service in education. She had formerly taught mathematics at Troy High School and Schaaf Junior High in Parma. Mary was also a former member of Troy Skating Club and Kettering Adult Figure Skating Club and a current member of Whitewater Valley Railroad in Connersville, IN.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, April 9, 2018 at Trinity Episcopal Church, 60 S. Dorset Road, Troy, OH with The Rev. Nancy Hardin officiating. Graveside service will be held at 11:00 Am on Tuesday at Knollwood Mausoleum in Mayfield Heights, OH. Friends may call on Monday from 1:00 – 2:00 PM at the Trinity Episcopal Church in Troy.
