Marianne T Byrnes-Castaneda passed peacefully on December 30, 2018 at her home in Troy. She was born June 2, 1963 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Robert J and Bertha C Byrnes.
She was preceded in death by her mom, Bertha C Byrnes.
She is survived by her husband, Anthony Castaneda, and her two daughters, Katherine and Sarah of Troy. She is also survived by her father, Robert J Byrnes; mother-in-law Norma Purcell, and father-in-law Robert Purcell.
Her surviving siblings are brother, Robert G Byrnes (Alison); brothers-in-law: Barry Castaneda (Dani), Randy Castaneda (Shelley), and sister-in-law Tracy Carlson (Kevin).
Marianne was a friendly soul, who enjoyed quiet social outings with friends and family, from her dog walking chats, sharing margaritas, picnics / cookouts, meals out, cheering her girl’s pursuits, travel, and keeping up with everyone on Facebook.
She was hard-working, earning degrees in Chemical Engineering / Materials Science Engineering at University of Dayton. She then worked at the BP Refinery in Lima, Ohio, and at Proctor & Gamble in Cincinnati. Then, she decided to pursue a new career, earning her BS Pharmacy from the University of Cincinnati. She worked at St Elizabeth in Dayton, then Kettering Medical Center in Kettering.
Marianne enjoyed a variety of activities including: biking, tennis – both playing and watching, enjoying her pets, Pepper in her younger years and Coco more lately and always feeding her birds, and working with her flowers. Marianne was the biggest fan for her two girls as they pursued various activities including swimming, dance, gymnastics, volleyball, cross country, and Girl Scout activities.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 on Friday, January 11 at Baird Funeral Home, Troy, Ohio. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 Saturday, January 12 at St Patrick Catholic Church, Troy, Ohio.
