Lucien J. "Lou" Chouinard

Lucien J. “Lou” Chouinard, age 84, of Troy, OH passed away on Wednesday, July 4, 2018 at the Hospice of Miami County Inpatient Unit.  Lou was born on September 24, 1933 in Lowell, MA to the late Eugene and Rose (Gaudreault) Chouinard.

Lou is survived by his wife of 55 years: Dorothy “Dotty” (Simoneau) Chouinard; son and daughter-in-law: Philip and Christine Chouinard of Thorndale, PA; daughters and sons-in-law: Therese and Todd Henry of Manassas, VA; Rena and John Herzer of Dayton, OH and Marguerite Chouinard of Wilmington, NC; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Lou was preceded in death by sister: Jeanne Barrette and brothers: Joseph, Lionel, Henry and Adelard Chouinard.

Lou served in the US Air Force and the US Air Force Reserves for 21 years and the remainder of his career was in civil service.  He was a member of St. Christopher Catholic Church in Vandalia.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00AM on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at St. Christopher Catholic Church in Vandalia, OH with the Rev. Fr. John Tonkin officiating.  Private interment will take place in Riverside Cemetery, Troy, OH.  The family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00PM on Monday, July 9, 2018 at the Baird Funeral Home, Troy, OH.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Helping Hand, c/o St. Christopher Church, 435 East National Road, Vandalia, Ohio 45377.
