Louise D. Smith

Louise D. (Smith) Smith, age 94yrs 11m and 27days of Tipp City, Ohio passed away on August 27, 2018 at SpringMeade Healthcare Center.  She was born on September 1, 1923 in Whitewood, Virginia to the late Caleb C. Smith and Dora Ellen (Patrick)Smith.  In 1943, she graduated from Viper High School in Slemp, Kentucky.

Louise was married to her husband of 65 years: Talton M. Smith, and he preceded her in death on December 26, 2012.

Louise is survived by four children and their spouses: Pamela L. (Ron) Cresswell of Dallas, Texas, Carol (James) Williams of Nashville, Tennessee, Talton M. (Suki) Smith of Englewood, Ohio and Keith P. Smith of Lawrenceville, Georgia; eight grandchildren: Joseph and Jacob Cresswell, Ellen Geiger (Williams), Aaron Williams, Jessica and Daniel Smith, Elizabeth Colman (Fahy), David Fahy and eleven great grandchildren: Gracie, Adelyn and Julia Cresswell, McKeenzie Cresswell, Riley Jayne Geiger, Trevor Whitley, Tyler, Kyle and Ryland Colman, Maddie and Conner Fahy.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Louise was preceded in death by son: Charles Paris Smith in 1955 and daughter: Candace Smith in 2018.

Louise was a member of the Troy Baptist Temple since 1955.  During WWII, Louise did her part to serve her country as a machinist at the Ex-Cell-O Factory of Detroit, Michigan, making parts for Fighter Planes and bombers.

Services will be held at 1pm on Friday, August 31, 2018 at Troy Baptist Temple, 691 East Staunton Road, Troy, Ohio.  Louise’s son-in-law, Rev. Ronald Cresswell will be officiating.  Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Troy.  The family will receive friends from 11am to 1pm on August 31,2018 at the church.
