JAMES R. MORRISON, age 81, of Springfield, formerly of Troy, passed away on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at South Brook Care Center in Springfield.  He was born on April 15, 1936 in Miami County to the late Robert M. and Euorda Alice (Howe) Morrison.  On September 3, 1955, he married Linda Elifritz.  She preceded him in death on February 5, 1998.

James is survived by one son: Keith E. Morrison of Piqua; one daughter: Robin Meiring of Piqua; one sister: Beverly Heffner of Troy; eight grandchildren; and fourteen great grandchildren.  In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two sons: James and Mark Morrison: two brothers: Robert and Richard Morrison; two sisters: Thelma Davis and Dorothy Simpson; two infant brothers; and one infant sister.

James attended Lost Creek School.  He retired from Hobart Corporation as a detail inspector after 38 years of employment.  James proudly served his country as a member of the US Air Force, having served one year in Korea.

Graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 5, 2017 at Riverside Cemetery Chapel in Troy.  Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Troy with full military honors presented by Veterans Memorial Honor Guard.  Friends may call from 10:00 – 11:00 AM on Friday at the Chapel.
