James Calvin Longendelpher

JAMES CALVIN LONGENDELPHER, 92 of Troy, Ohio, passed away February 28, 2018 at Heartland of Piqua.  He was born October 20, 1925 in Covington, OH to the late George William and Rose Marie (Fletcher) Longendelpher.  Jimmy married his soul mate, Miriam St. John of Casstown, Ohio, on July 24, 1948.  She preceded his death on June 26, 2004.

Jimmy will be missed and remembered by his sons and daughters-in-law: Lonnie and Marcia Longendelpher of Centerville, OH, James “Erlan” and Cindy Longendelpher of Oklahoma City, OK and Myron and Pam Longendelpher of Fletcher, OH; grandchildren: Sharon Hunt of Duncan, OK, Jessica Peters of Texas, Johnny Longendelpher of Troy, OH, Jenny Smith of Piqua, OH, Brett Longendelpher of Columbus, OH, Todd Longendelpher of Columbus, OH and Jeff Longendelpher of Beavercreek, OH; fourteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.  He was preceded in passing by his parents: George and Rose; his wife: Miriam; sisters: Vera Wise and Beulah Wray; and brothers: Melvin Longendelpher, George Longendelpher and Glenn Longendelpher.

Jimmy worked for several companies prior to retiring.  Those companies were B & O Railroad, Troy Telephone, Troy Country Club, the WACO assembly plant during WW II, Troy City Schools and Hobart Brothers.  He retired from McCauley/Cessna Company as a Machinist in 1987.  Jimmy was a loving father and grandfather.  He was a member of Troy View Church of God.

Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, March 2, 2018 at Baird Funeral Home in Troy with Rev. David Wray officiating.  Interment will follow at Casstown Cemetery in Casstown.  Family will receive friends and family from 12:00 – 2:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home.
