James H. Boyd, age 46, of Troy passed away on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 of natural causes at his residence.  He was born on March 6, 1971 in Richmond, IN to Howard J. and Alice R. (Kurylowich) Boyd of Troy.

In addition to his parents, Jim is survived by one son: Quinn Patrick Boyd of South Charleston; five siblings: Bill (Kelly) Boyd of Troy, Diane Lade (Kyle Barker) of St. Paris, Sandy (Chris) Nosker of Troy, Donald Boyd of  Stow, and Patricia (Todd) Kline of Troy; nine nieces and nephews; one great niece; one great nephew; and his dog: Tommy.  He was preceded in death by one brother: Mark Boyd.

Jim was a 1989 graduate of Batesville, IN High School.  He received his Bachelor Degree from Wright State and was working on his Master Degree.  Jim loved spending time with his son, music and painting.  He was also a writer and had published a book.  Jim proudly served his country as a member of the US Navy for four years.  He was employed at Orient Correctional Institute, where he was an environmental engineer.

Services will be held at 7:00 PM on Monday, June 26, 2017 at Baird Funeral Home in Troy.  Burial will be held at a later date in New Lisbon Cemetery in New Lisbon, IN.  Friends may call from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Monday at the funeral home.
