JACK R. PUTNEY, age 77 of Troy, passed away on Monday, October 9, 2017 at his residence.  He was born in Piqua on March 31, 1940 to the late Raymond Putney, who passed away in 1983, and Margaret (Harmon) Putney Simmons, who passed away in July, 2017. 

Jack is survived by his wife of 35 years, Dawn (Suerdieck) Putney; two children: Beth Ann (Terry) Shaffer of Fredericksburg, VA and Wesley Putney of Troy; one sister: Judi (Michael) Magel of Troy, and their children: nephew: Eric (Amy) Magel and niece: Michelle (David) Nosker, both of Troy; five grandchildren: Chad, Ashley, Josh, T. J. and Tristan; and three great grandchildren.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather: James Simmons.

Jack was a 1959 graduate of Troy High School.  He was a member of Troy Fish and Game, past member of Troy Lodge B. P. O. E. 833, where he had served as a trustee, Troy Moose Lodge 2695 and Troy Country Club.  Jack was owner and operator of Jack R. Putney and Son Construction.  For the last ten years, he had enjoyed being the “handyman” at K’s in Troy.

Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at Baird Funeral Home in Troy.  Friends may call from12:00 – 2:00 PM on Saturday at the funeral home.
