IVAN E. KUNKLEMAN, age 83, of Troy, passed away on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at his residence. He was born on March 14, 1935 in Potsdam, OH to the late Ellis and Opal (Kress) Kunkleman.
Ivan is survived by his wife of 62 years: Patricia A. (Shuman) Kunkleman; three children: Scott (Joanne Wilson) Kunkleman of Jupiter, FL, Jeffrey (Cindy) Kunkleman of Troy, OH and Matthew Kunkleman of Saltville, VA; four granddaughters: Lelah (Randy) Payne of Troy, OH, Paige (James) Apple of Sidney, OH, Ella Judson-Kunkleman and Callie Judson-Kunkleman, both of Asheville, NC; and great grandchildren: Alyssa, Isaac, Hunter and Anna Apple, Rowdy, Joey and Benjamin Payne. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister: Judy Krueckeburg.
Ivan was a graduate of Milton-Union High School. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Troy. Ivan worked in printing for McCall’s/Dayton Press, Amos Press and then retired from Direct Graphics in 2000. In his early years, Ivan was a part of Evening Optimist, Teener League Baseball and Soap Box Derby. In more recent years, he volunteered with First Place Food Pantry. Ivan’s hobbies included spending time outdoors, hunting mushrooms, raising black raspberries, gardening and woodworking.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at Baird Funeral Home in Troy with Pastor Dave Leckrone officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Troy. Friends may call from 4:00 – 8:00 PM on Friday at Baird Funeral Home.
