Dorothy Darlene Casey Godwin, age 74, of Troy, OH passed away on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at her residence.  She was born on August 15, 1942 in Milton, WV to the late Alex Everet and Clara Thelma (McKinney) Casey.  Dorothy was married to Jackie Lee Godwin Sr. and he preceded her in death on July 13, 2011.

Dorothy is survived by her children: Charles (Suzanne) Potter of New Albany; Jack (Mary) Godwin Jr. of Troy; Jeff (Cathy) Godwin of Troy; Judie Godwin of Troy and Jody (Rick) Kennedy of Troy; daughter-in-law: Heather Knoth Godwin of Yellow Springs; sisters: Betty Joe Niles of Troy; Nancy Casey of Troy and Connie Heckman of Tipp City; brothers: Tom Casey of West Milton and Jim Casey of Troy; nineteen grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren and many extended family.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by her son: Rickey Dean Godwin; brothers: Larry, Jerry, Bill and John Casey and sister: Patty Hughes.

Dorothy was retired from Arc Abrasives in Troy.  She loved to cook and give advise on cooking to her family and friends.  She also enjoyed going to the casino and the root beer stand.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00PM on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at the Baird Funeral Home in Troy.  Private interment will take place in Riverside Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Miami County or Family Abuse Shelter.
