Carl L. Asher, age 94, of Troy, OH passed away on April 18, 2018. He was born on February 7, 1924 in Great Bend, KS to the late Frank and Cora (Wordlaw) Asher.
Carl is survived by his daughter: Elizabeth Asher of Whitewater, WI; niece: Maretta Schloemer of Great Bend, KS; grandson: Brandon Laduke of TN and numerous friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by eight siblings.
Carl served his country during WWII as a second lieutenant in the Army Medical Corp. He received his Bachelor Degree in education and Master Degree in theology from the University of Wisconsin. He was a graduate of the Garret Theological Seminary and was an ordained United Methodist pastor and later a pastor with the United Church of Christ. In 1976 he obtained his credentials in chemical dependency counseling and served at the Upper Valley Medical Center and Miami County Recovery Council programs.
Carl was a cowboy at heart and rode horses in the Troy Strawberry Festival and Fourth of July parades. He also did the Wyoming trail ride.
