Billy M. Chaney, age 82, of Troy, OH passed away on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at the Koester Pavilion.  Billy was born on October 22, 1934 in Troy, OH to the late Charles Emerson and Minnie Blanche (Hansford) Chaney. 

Billy is survived by his wife of 58 years:  Phyllis Plantz Chaney; sons and daughters-in-law: Billy Joe and Cheryl Chaney and Bobby Joe and Ann Marie Chaney all of Troy; granddaughters: Savhanna (Nathan) Aycock and Kaitlyn Elizabeth (Fiance’, Dalton Allen) Chaney; grandson: Cody Joseph Chaney; great grandsons: Carson and Carter Aycock.  He was one of 17 children and is survived by two sisters: Mary-Ellen Durst of Tipp City and Sara Scherer of Troy.  In addition to his parents, Billy was preceded in death by nine brothers and six sisters.

Billy was a veteran of the US Army.  He attended the First Baptist Church in Troy.  He enjoyed bowling, hunting, camping, fishing and especially, spending time with his grandkids.  He was the owner and operator of the Chaney’s Body Shop in Troy from 1984-2012.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00PM on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at the Baird Funeral Home in Troy with the Rev. Doug Magin officiating.  Interment will take place in the Riverside Cemetery in Troy with military services by the Veterans Memorial Honor Guard of Troy.  The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00PM on Friday, June 2, 2017 at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Koester Pavilion, Center Station, 3232 North County Road 25A, Troy, OH 45373.  The family wishes to express the appreciation to the Koester  Pavilion staff, especially Joanie Clark for their loving care.
