Ruth K. Plantz, age 83, of Troy, OH passed away on Sunday, December 10, 2017 at Genesis of Troy.  She was born on September 23, 1934 in St. Albans, WV to the late Jessie and Bessie (Adkins) Lovejoy. 

Ruth is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law:  Leonard R. and Penny Mullins of Troy; Jerry and Debbie Mullins of Troy and Randy Mullins of Bradford; stepchildren: Marlan David and Janet Plantz of Troy; Marilyn R. Salyers of Bowling Green, KY and Vivian R. Hare of Henderson, KY; grandchildren: Olivia Mullins, Daniel and Elizabeth Mullins, Tara and Geoff Barnhart, Jessica Mullins and Joshua Elswick; great-grandchildren: Garren, Gracen, Griffin, Gannon, Tacie and Seth; several step grandchildren; brother: Luther L. and Drema Lovejoy of Middleport and sister: Violet M. Cantrell of Troy.

In addition to her parents Ruth was preceded in death by her first husband Hassel R. Mullins on January 22, 1973 after 21 years of marriage and her second husband Ivan W. Plantz Sr. on June 3, 2008 after 30 years of marriage;  brothers: Dallas Lovejoy and Charles D. Lovejoy and sister: Mary Lovejoy.

Ruth was a member of the Troy Freewill Baptist Church.  She attended St. Albans High School.  Ruth was formerly employed with Stouder Memorial Hospital and Troy City Schools.  She was a lover of crafts and quilting, watching Wheel of Fortune, Family Feud and Jeopardy and the TV show Golden Girls. Ruth loved to listen to her boys play guitar and sing. 

Services will be held at 2:00PM on Thursday, December 14, 2017 at the Baird Funeral Home, Troy with the Rev. Ray Horton and Pastor Dwight Stump officiating.  Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Troy.  The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00PM on Thursday at the funeral home.
