ROBERT J. SHOOK, age 84, passed away on Thursday, March 23, 2017 at Hospice of Miami County in Troy.  He was born on August 13, 1932 in Troy. OH to the late William N. and Iva E. (Mumford) Shook. 

Bob is survived by his wife of 63 years and steady partner through thick and thin, Barbara (Sharkey) Shook; daughter and son-in-law: Julie S. and Michael A. Muhlberger of Raleigh, NC; son: Thomas W. Shook of Troy; grandchildren: Michael G. Muhlberger of PA, Sarah A. Muhlberger and Jason R. Muhlberger, both of TX; and many nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers: Garnard, Eugene, Victor and Paul; and one niece: Shelly.

Bob was the 5th son of a family of achievers and survivors.  Bob was a husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, Army officer, corporate officer, business owner, college instructor, elected official, held public and private board memberships and chaired many civic organizations.  His many years of public service always were steered toward improving the quality of life for many fellow citizens.  His lasting legacy, the Bike Path.

Services will be at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at First Presbyterian Church in Troy.  Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Troy with full military honors being presented by The Veterans Memorial Honor Guard of Troy.  Friends may call from 3:00 – 7:00 PM on Monday at Baird Funeral Home in Troy.
