I would like to extend my family's condolences on Bud's passing. He was one of my father's good friends and he lived next door to us in the other half of our duplex. I remember him as always quiet and having a perpetual smile on his face. Again, we're sorry for your loss.

Please accept my sympathy in the passing of Raymond "Bud" Shaffer. I happened to see his obituary in the Troy Daily News and read it because my mother is the daughter of Orell Bliss Shaeffer of Troy. Her older brother Raymond was born in 1911, and was probably the father of "Bud." I remember visiting her brother Raymond at his home in Troy. If you have any family pictures or memories you would like to share, that would be great. My son has done a lot of research on the family tree if you are interested. Wanda and Mary,
This is Jack trying to express my feelings on Bud's passing and the joys we had being your neighbors during our childhood years. Even though our paths went different ways, I have very fond memories of your family and being such good neighbors. Bud was special to me as he always allowed me to be part of his adventures even though he was older than I was. I still have one of his early woodworking projects, a fishing tackle box in which I keep all of my favorite old-time lures.
Your mother and father, the boys and the girls were all special to our family and we hope to see you in the future.
