MARY LOU HELMER, age 69, of Covington, passed away on Sunday, June 25, 2017 at her residence.  She was born in Piqua on March 28, 1948 to the late Robert Harry and Mary Ruth (Fair) Palsgrove.  Her husband, William E. Helmer, preceded her in death on February 27, 2001.

Mary Lou is survived by her children: Ron (Amy) Brown of Knoxville, TN, Robin Hetzler of Troy, Robert (Crystal) Brown of Piqua and Rod (April) Brown of Covington, OH; two sisters: Sandra Westfall of Bradford, OH and Rhonda McCrory of Branson, MO; grandchildren: Joshua Wenrick, Thomas Wenrick, Jake Hetzler and Mara Brown, all of Piqua, Ryan Brown and Tyler Brown, both of Covington and Logan Knowles of Knoxville, TN; and great grandchildren: Urijah Baker, Spencer Wenrick and Tori Wenrick.

Mary Lou was active in Miami County Relay for Life.  She was a member of Covington AmVets Post 66.  Mary Lou was a nurse in the Health Care Industry and also worked in cosmetology as a shop owner and instructor.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, June 30, 2017 at Baird Funeral Home in Troy with Bradley Campbell officiating.  Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Garden in Vandalia.  Friends may call from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home.
