JAMES ESTEL MCGUIRE, age 79, of Troy, passed away on Wednesday, August 2, 2017, at his residence. He was born on April 9, 1938 in Dayton, Ohio, to the late Rice Estel “Mac” and Rozella (Grimsley) McGuire.

James, “Jimmy”, is survived by his children: Lori McGuire of Miamisburg, Mark James (Robin) McGuire of Covington, Molly McGuire of Oakwood, Amy McGuire of Valparaiso, IN., and James Mitchell “Mitch” McGuire of Dayton, and his grandsons, Cody McGuire, Ethan McGuire and Skylar Morris.  He is also survived by his sisters, Bette (McGuire) Ward, and Bonnie (McGuire) Kosson, both of Mt. James was a graduate of Miami Central High School, class of 1956. He also attended the Dayton Art Institute, where he learned Technical Illustration and Drafting. He retired from A.O. He maintained his certification as a thoroughbred trainer throughout his life, as well as his membership with the Ohio Thoroughbred Association.

His family would like to thank Hospice of the Miami Valley for the exceptional, loving care they gave him. Memorial contributions can be made in his name to them through the website under the foundation heading, or by mail.

A private memorial will be held by the family at a future date. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.bairdfuneralhome.com.
